About Our Medical Director

Dr. Timothy M. Coats has served as Medical Director and attending physician at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Valley Gardens since 2000. He attended the University of California, Davis where he earned his medical degree and graduated with the highest of honors. He completed his internship at the Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA, and his residency at the San Joaquin County Hospital in Stockton, CA in their department of Family Practice. Dr. Coats became Board Certified in Family Practice in 1979, and has been in private practice as a family practitioner ever since.

He is a member of the California Medical Association, the San Joaquin Medical Society, Phi Beta Kappa and the North Stockton Rotary. Dr. Coats was also an Associated Clinical Profession of Family Practice instructor at the University of California, Davis from 1979-1986.
